Mawani, CMA CGM Group launch $129 million logistics park at Jeddah Islamic Port

The Saudi Ports Authority “Mawani” and global shipping giant CMA CGM announced laying the foundation stone of a new logistics area at Jeddah Islamic Port.

Spanning over 130,000 square meters, the project involves an investment of approximately $129 million (SAR487 million).

During the first quarter of 2025, the infrastructure will be established in the region.

Visionary Goals of Mawani

Omar Hariri, Head of Mawani, highlighted the project’s alignment with Saudi Vision 2030.

The new logistics area aims to bolster a sustainable maritime transport system.

Moreover, it reflects Mawani’s commitment to making Saudi Arabia a global logistics hub and a connecting point for three continents.

Unique Logistics Solutions

The new logistics area will offer unique, eco-friendly solutions. These include an export center, storage and sorting services, smart warehouses, and refrigerated storage.

It will also utilize CMA CGM’s vast network, CCIS internal solutions, and CEVA’s logistics services to provide seamless end-to-end logistics solutions.

Regional Impact and Goals

Jesper Stenbak, Regional Director of CMA CGM for the Middle East, Gulf, and Indian Ocean islands, stated this is the company’s first integrated logistics area in the region.

Consequently, the project aims to enhance global shipping and logistics services quality and efficiency for local and international clients.

Boosting Jeddah Islamic Port’s Competitiveness

This logistics area will enhance the competitive edge of Jeddah Islamic Port and CMA CGM.

Furthermore, Mawani aims to improve operational processes at the port, increase its capacity, and rank it among the top 10 ports globally.
